ASRock Z790 LiveMixer Motherboard Review

Final Thoughts

As I mentioned in my review of the B650 LiveMixer, I had my eyes on these boards since they were announced. It seems with all motherboard brands (ASRock included) we know their product lines and know what to expect when a new chipset or processor launches. ASRock changed that with the LiveMixer line. This was something new and definitely out of the box for them.

The biggest thing is of course the board design with its graffiti-style finishes. This is something I’ve never seen before on a motherboard unless its been custom painted by a modder. And ASRock really did a great job capturing this style with the graffiti not only on the heatsinks of the board, but the PCB as well. I would really love for ASRock to come out with a graphics card that would match this same style!

ASRock Z790 LiveMixer Motherboard

ASRock told us that this line of motherboards is made for podcasters, streamers, and content creators. If there is one thing those type of PC users need is USB ports and this board is loaded with them! You have 14 alone on the rear I/O as well as many more available via headers on the board. So if you are connected multiple gaming devices, microphones, webcams, audio interfaces and more you are covered! On top of that you are getting Gen5 and Gen4 storage here so loading up games and applications is going to be incredibly fast.

This board does not have as beefy of a VRM as we’ve seen on other Z790 boards that we’ve reviewed. Although it is definitely adequate for running Core i9 processor at both stock and some overclocked situations. Also this board does not have WiFi by default, although there is an M.2 WiFi slot if you wanted to add it yourself.

I think that ASRock has done a great job with this new LiveMixer line. These boards definitely stand out and do have many features streamers, podcasters, and content creators will appreciate. Right now you can pick this board up at our favorite online retailer for $279.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ASRock Z790 LiveMixer motherboard a 9 out of 10 score!
